Are you considering studying medicine and dentistry in India? Then you have to look into who is eligible to take the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). NEET-UG is thus the conduit through which one secures a seat at any of the Indian universities in MBBS, BDS, or any other medical course. To qualify for the examination in NEET-UG 2025, the candidates have to comply with the following:

General/EWS: 50%
SC/ST/OBC-NCL: 40%
PwD: 45%
4. Qualifying Examination Codes
Candidates must fall under one of the following qualifying examination codes:
1. Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)
NRIs are eligible for admission to medical/dental colleges in India.
They must upload a Certificate from the Indian Diplomatic Mission in their country of residence along with their NEET-UG application form.
2. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI)
OCIs are eligible for NEET-UG but must comply with the rules set by the Government of India.
As per the Supreme Court Order dated 03.02.2023, OCIs are entitled to the same rights and privileges as before the 04.03.2021 notification.
3. Foreign Nationals
Foreign nationals must upload documentary proof of citizenship (e.g., valid passport or citizenship certificate) along with their NEET-UG application.
They must confirm their eligibility with the respective medical/dental college or state authorities.
Students from the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh are eligible for 15% All India Quota seats.
Candidates from these UTs can participate in the All India Quota on par with candidates from other states.
