JEE Main Exam Pattern 2021 can be checked by the aspirants through online mode. The pattern indicates the exam mode, type of questions, marking scheme, etc. New Changes have been introduced in JEE Main 2021 exam pattern & syllabus which candidates can check in the article. The JEE Main exam is a national level examination, which will be organized to provide admissions in undergraduate engineering and architecture courses provided by NITs, IIITs and IITs.

The exam will be conducted for B.E/ B.Tech, B.Arch & B. Planning. It will be conducted through online mode. Through this article, we are providing the detailed information about JEE Main 2021 Exam Pattern.

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2021

JEE Main 2021 Registration has been started 16th December 2020 for the February session exam.

JEE Main 2021 exam dates have been announced for all sessions. It will be conducted from 23rd to 25th February 2021 for February session. There is no attempt limit in Jee Main examination.

JEE Main (B.E/ B.Tech) Exam Pattern:

  • Exam Mode: The examination will be held through online CBT mode. Drawing test for Jee Main Paper II (B.Arch) will be held through offline mode.
  • Subjects: JEE Main will contain questions from Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics subjects.
  • Type of Questions: Objective Type -Multiple Choice questions and numeric type questions will be asked in the examination.
  • Number of Questions: Question paper will contain 90 questions, in which candidates will have to attempt 75 questions. Choices will be given in section B.
  • Exam Duration: The exam duration will be 3 hours. 4 hours for candidates having 40% disability.
  • Question Paper Medium: The question paper medium is in English, Hindi, Tamil, Urdu, Odia, Assamese, Punjabi, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Kannada, Gujarati, Bengali for all centre cities. Students have to make an option of language medium at the time of the application process. No changes can be done later.
  • Marking Scheme: Each correct question will carry 4 marks.
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. There will be no negative marking in section B.

Note: In section, B candidates will have to attempt any 5 questions out of 10.

JEE Main B.Arch Exam Pattern:

  • Exam Mode: The mode of exam for B.Arch will be online only. The drawing test of Paper 2 will be conducted through offline mode on a sheet of A4 size.
  • Subjects: The JEE Main will comprise of three subjects which are mathematics, aptitude test and drawing test.
  • Type of Questions: Objective Type -Multiple Choice Questions will be asked in section A & section B will contain questions whose answers to be filled as a numerical value.
  • Number of Questions: 30 questions will be there in the mathematics section; 50 questions in Aptitude test; 2 questions in drawing test. In mathematics, In section B candidates have to attempt 5 questions out of 10. There will be a total of 82 questions in the paper.
  • Exam Duration: The duration of the exam will be 3 hours. 4 hours for candidates having 40% disability.
  • Question Paper Medium: Question paper medium will be Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu in addition to Hindi, English and Gujarati.
  • Marking System: Each question will carry 4 marks for the correct response.
  • Negative Marking: For each incorrect response, 1 mark will be deducted from the total score. There will be no negative marking for a numerical value answer type of questions.

Note: In section, B candidates will have to attempt any 5 questions out of 10.

JEE Main Paper (B.Plan) Exam Pattern:

  • Courses: The paper of B.Plan of JEE Main 2021 will be conducted for admission to undergraduate planning courses.
  • Exam Mode: The mode of exam of the paper is CBT mode only.
  • Subjects: The Paper comprises of three parts – Mathematics, Aptitude test and planning based objective type MCQs.
  • Type of Questions: Section A will contain Multiple Choice questions & Section B will contain questions whose answers are to be filled in as the numerical value.
  • Number of Questions: 30 questions will be there in the mathematics section; 50 questions in Aptitude test; 25 questions in planning. In mathematics, 20 questions will be of multiple-choice type & 10 questions answers to be filled as a numerical value. There will be a total of 105 questions in the paper.
  • Exam Duration: The duration of the exam will be 3 hours. 4 hours for candidates having 40% disability.
  • Question Paper Medium: Question paper medium will be Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu in addition to Hindi, English and Gujarati.
  • Marking System: Each question will carry 4 marks for the correct response.
  • Negative Marking: For each incorrect response 1 mark will be deducted from the total score. There will be no negative marking for a numerical value answer type of questions or in Section B.

Note: In section, B candidates will have to attempt any 5 questions out of 10.
